Political activist Zahra’ Langhi took part in the Libyan revolution and later co-founded the Libyan Women’s Platform for Peace (LWPP) to advocate for the social inclusion and political empowerment of women, especially in the new government.
Langhi led the LWPP’s major lobbying initiative to increase the inclusion and active participation of females in politics. Her efforts were a success and the newly reformed electoral laws have drastically increased female seats in the Libyan parliament.
