Marti founded DBS, which provides simple blood analysis for the diagnosis of infectious and non-communicable diseases in communities where there is a lack of access to basic healthcare. According to the World Health Organisation, non-communicable diseases cause 38 million deaths each year, with 28 million of them occurring in low- and middle-income countries. Marti’s organisation uses the new dry blood spot medical solution, where just one drop of blood is needed for early diagnosis. Through DBS, Marti is looking to ‘democratise prevention’.
