Daniel Gomez Iñiguez, 24, co-founded Mexico-based Solben, which manufactures a press that extracts oil from non-food products such as algae and Jatropha to produce diesel fuel. The idea came to Iñiguez at high school when he realised no one in Mexico had the technology to produce biodiesel. Solben also offers oil plantation seeds, seed-hulling machines, training, and quality testing. Today, global sales in the US, Central America, and India are close to US$5 million.
