  • United States
  • Feminist Muslim advocate

Aged only 18, Muslim-American Amara Majeed has already found her niche: empowering Muslim women and removing ignorant stereotypes.

Two years ago, she launched a global social experiment called the Hijab Project to reduce the misunderstandings surrounding Islam and to foster a world where all women feel accepted, educated and beautiful. A rapid success, the initiative has given her a podium from which to speak to major media outlets and the US Senate on common issues facing Muslims around the world.
